GARDEN OVERHAUL

September 2004

 

We finally decided to do away with our home's dated front yard look. It just looked like an old Arlington lot. We'd been inspired by BBC America's Ground Force and Home Front in the Garden shows. Our friend Keith O'Connor, who is a  professional landscape architect, kindly offered to come over and do some sketches.

 

Keith drew a rough sketch plan. Georganne at Merrifield Garden Center tweeked it a little and brought in the Center's crew over three days to remove decades-old bushes and trees, build a dry stone wall and transform the garden.
