Yes, more from Wembley as we follow our intrepid national team. I took my friend Tony to see a friendly against Slovakia, a team who played llike they would have preferred to be somewhere else. Aside from the goals, the main highlight was a Mexican wave that had quite some life to it despite the cynical English fans.

The second match played a few days later was a World Cup qualifier against Ukraine, a team that played with more vigour. In fact England looked very stodgy and uncertain. However, we went on to win. I am sitting out the next qualifier against Andorra because a). They’re not a country and so shouldn’t be allowed in the World Cup and b). They rarely advance beyond their own half which makes for dull football. Having said that, I bet we’ll lose that one now!
